Well we took a family trip to TSC to get our baby chick welcoming supplies. Got a waterer, feeder, feed storage bin, and some starter feed. Forgot to get heat lamps so I’ll have to go back from them.
But that’s not the whole story… Becky was mowing yesterday before I got home and the mower belt broke. I couldn’t see the number on the belt, so I just took the old belt to TSC last night and just sorta held it together and sized up a belt. Brought it home and tried to put it on… not even close. Way too short. Well I found out why. There was a piece of belt laying under the mower. So I grabbed it and jumped back in the truck to try again… they had closed. So today, as mentioned above, after support we were making a trip to get the chicken stuff, got half way there…. I forgot the belt! We turn back, get the belt, and finally arrive at TSC. Becky and the smaller kids run to the chicken aisle, Steve and I size up the pieced together belt. We head home… belt is still too short. This time I pull out the John Deere mower manual and read the spec for the belt. It lists the part number, but not the length. I Google the length. I return to TSC (yet again) and get the prescribed belt and return home again. You guessed it… still didn’t fit. This time too big! By this time it was 10 till 8… too late again. The saga will continue tomorrow! Argh!
